This trailer tester for the 12n socket and plug will allow you to test lights or the plugs without connecting the trailer or car .

Features And Benefits 

  • 12N 7 Pin car and trailer tester for testing ISO1724 /12N 7pin circuits
  • LED indicators show any faults on the towbar or trailer lighting circuits
  • Requires 1 x 9V PP3 battery (not included) for testing trailer lighting
  • Note: Not suitable for use with LED trailer lights
  • Towbar testing requires ignition to be switched on and each function activated in turn
  • Indicators will show green when function is tested and correctly wired, or red if a fault is present

Tow Bar Testing

  • Plug the tester (“Towbar Check” connection) into the 7 pin towing socket
  •  Switch on the ignition and test each lighting function in turn
  • LED indicators will show Red when the function tested is correctly wired

Trailer Testing

  • Not suitable for use with LED trailer lights
  • Insert a PP9 – 9V battery (not included) observing correct polarity
  • Insert the 7 pin trailer plug into the tester (“Trailer Check” connection)
  • Press the “Trailer Check” test button on the side of the tester
  • LED indicators will show Red when the function tested is correctly wired
  • If the LEDs do not light up check the internal battery.
  • If individual LEDs still do not light up, check the plug wiring against ISO1724 – some lighting circuits may not be connected in all installations.
  • Finally, make further checks of bulbs and contacts if necessary
